The reality is that exposure does not usually lead to greater acceptance of different cultures and lifestyles, it often leads to more distrust and non-acceptance.

I grew up in a racially-changing environment. I saw my town change in many ways, demographically speaking. I saw all the negatives that such changes brought, and I was brought into contact with the newcomers, both in the school and workplace setting. There is a world of difference.

Generally speaking, those that praise diversity have little experience with it.
