"The United Nation’s Committee on the Right of the Child proposal for the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child draft from February, 2019 garnered a lot of attention from gamers and anime fans due to the language used in the draft that indicated guidance to enforce the restriction of drawings, cartoons, audio, and written works of fiction featuring “children” engaged in sexual exploitation. If the proposal was enforced it would obviously mean plenty of animes, games, and visual novels would get snuffed out of existence. Well, the U.N., posted up some of the responses from the State parties, individuals, and organizations, and some surprising countries came to the aid of anime.
Over on the OHCHR website they have the letters from all respondents available for public viewing. Specifically, the United States was the only State party to explicitly defend anime in writing against the U.N’s proposal, which they acknowledged such works (that weren’t deemed obscence) were protected by the First Amendment.
The U.S’ letter to the U.N., dated May 6th, 2019 actually agrees with a lot of the U.N’s proposals for protecting kids, but when it came to paragraph 62 about banning representations of “non-existing children”, the Human Rights Treaties Branch wrote…
“ In the United States, federal law provides that it is illegal to create, possess, or distribute a visual depiction of any kind, including a drawing, cartoon, sculpture or painting, that depicts a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct and is obscene. However, visual depictions (CGI, anime, etc.) where there is not a “real” child are typically protected by the First Amendment (unless the visual depictions are obscene) and the United States’ obligations under the ICCPR. We suggest editing the paragraph as follows: “… urges States parties to prohibit, by law, consistent with their national legal systems, child sexual abuse material in any form …. including when such material represents realistic representations of non-existing children.”"

"SJW Artist Who Wanted Loli Images Banned Apologizes For Sexual Misconduct Involving Minor
There’s a common saying in the culture war: SJWs always project. This saying relates to the fact that anything a Social Justice Warrior accuses you of, they’re likely guilty of it themselves. This has turned out to be true yet again for an activist artist going by the handle of Julian, who had advocated for deplatforming artists that draw lewd loli images.
Since the U.N., proposed the criminalization of sexualized or suggestive imagery of “underage” fictional characters – a proposal that many saw as a direct attack on anime and manga – there has been a steady escalation of censorship on loli and shota imagery. Many of the bans have been advocated for and encouraged by Social Justice Warriors. One such individual is Twitter user Julian, who made the following post on March 1st, 2019.
[...]
The “pansexual” artist with pronouns in his Twitter bio pinned a tweet on his account that links to a Twitlonger post published on April 29th, 2019, where Julian confessed to sending not safe for work images of himself to a minor.
The first half of the post starts with Julian writing…
“A thread detailing my past actions has surfaced today, things that I have been running from for almost 2 years, and now I’m writing this to give you the truth. I’m sorry, but yes.
“First thing to address, yes I am guilty of having sent unsolicited nsfw pictures of myself to a minor. This was in 2014, and I had an extremely unhealthy mindset that my actions online didn’t really matter, and that I could do whatever I wanted to. This was the last time I had ever done something like this, but things unfortunately do not get better from here.

This has been common behavior from the Social Justice branch of those who engage in identity politics across social media.
We’ve seen it so often in the recent past, where people like Shane Butler, an indie developer who criticized and attacked TotalBiscuit for supporting #GamerGate, turned out to be a child pornographer.
There was also the former NeoGaf moderator, Christopher Goldberg, who was vehemently anti-#GamerGate, publicly derided anime fans, and was also heavily involved in collecting child pornography. Goldberg was arrested and sentenced to two years in prison.
Matt Hickey, a former games and tech journalist, was also against #GamerGate, and penned a piece criticizing Microsoft for hiring go-go dancers at an after party during the Game Developers Conference. Matt Hickey considered himself a male feminist. However, for over a decade he had been drugging and raping women. Matt Hickey was sentenced to three years in prison.
Julian hasn’t been arrested yet, but explains in the Twitlonger post how after doing what he did he decided to embrace Social Justice in order to create a “safe” and “positive” place for people, writing…"

Boogiepop wa Warawanai (2019) Completed. "Все умрут, а я Бугипоп". Запаковываем сезон, весьма и весьма интересное построение сюжета, когда всё настолько туго друг с другом связано. Хорошая разминка для памяти, когда смотришь по серии раз в неделю. 10/10
