Sudoku is a wonderful game fora beginner programmer to hack. Puzzles are separated by complexity into distinct classes. Euristic moves are clear. There are loads of sudoku-silvers in the wild that emulate human moves in solution. But, once I stumbled in the web upon an uber-algorithm that reduced all known euristics to one that resembles Euler circles. Link is lost and I can't find it again :(
