Hmm Juick is broken at the moment. This makes me wonder what will happen if suddently the service closes forever. Centralization and such "services" are the easy way, but at times it gets a bit scary.
It would be great if the avatar and presence of Juick users were available through the Omnipresence API: presence.jabberfr.org . For example, it would make the information automatically usable in any SPIP-powered website.
Another idea for Juick: having the possibility to insert a *tag in the middle of a sentence, not only at the beginning.
Being able to use bold and italics text when writing to the juick bot is nice, as well as URL recognition... A nice way to keep it this way and extend the idea would be to support the popular Markdown syntax: daringfireball.net
Another idea for Juick to support more Jabber features: xmpp.org in addition to the bot-like NICK command.
When looking at the whole list of commands Juick can understand, I think that it would be great if the bot implemented XEP-0050 (Ad-hoc commands). That would definitely be a lot more user-friendly, and more in the spirit of standards than a client-specific plugin like the one for Gajim. Any opinions?
It would be great if Juick had a concept of language... I think i will start using tags like lang:xx with the 2-letter language code, except for messages in my main language (French). Then Juick should definitely allow a user to define the default language they write in.
bon, inscrit sur juick... on verra ce que ça donne.
